Korn, German for grain. As in film grain. As in unwanted noise that adds character. Grain is beautiful. The blemishes, the battle scars, the crackles—they humanize and tell a story. They’re a testament to experience and craftsmanship. We used to love them, before there were filters to smoothen them all (and then other filters to fake them again).
